I know that these words capture a specific emotion and feeling. I can already hear them echoing in my head speaking to moments where I couldn't find the right words. Simply beautiful and haunting.
It's interesting because everybody knows exactly what you say here, and they do because you have cultivated that essential knowledge into a simple aesthetic, which in turn works so well because it is that simple. Simple, simple simple! Most poems regarding this matter attempt to go into detail about the personal relation towards that of wanting to "hang in beauty" but consequently will lose this essence, and ironically so because they go the extra mile to get there. By keeping but the essential element, everybody will intuitively upon reading it articulate that which they relate to it for themselves, and so one could even say that there is no need to keep it more complicated than this, which in turn would allow one to say that you did excellently. This is all digression of course, but I just really liked it, perhaps because it contrasts so well to the tedious; very tedious, tendency to get all whiny and dull about one of the most frequently recurring themes in poetry. In other words, fresh breath of air (high five). Of course capturing an essential element is a skill in itself, but to do it shortly and in such beauty, deserves credit. All praise well deserved!
i think i live for comments like these. wow. i am so glad you enjoyed this, despite its length. it is always reassuring to find those who understand my exact intentions in a piece- not only does it make me feel good about myself, but about the reader, as well (communication without direct contact). it is what i had in mind. and i was afraid no one had gotten my meaning, i was afraid i wasn't explaining myself, so to hear that you got it perfectly makes me feel so confident in this piece especially. thank you. this comment has made my day. <3
Idk, personally I prefer it when people don't explain themselves, because one of the small wonders with art is that it hits that which cannot be explained, and any explanation then tend to, you know, consume the art in it? Anyway, glad to help.
